MUSCAT: Omani products can enter the Indian market under preferential terms through the Oman–India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Oman Customs said, highlighting the agreement’s customs and trade benefits.
The authority said the agreement reduces or eliminates customs duties on eligible goods, lowers trade costs and facilitates the movement of products between the two countries. It also seeks to remove non-tariff barriers by simplifying customs procedures, harmonising regulatory requirements and improving transparency.
Oman Customs noted that the CEPA strengthens the Sultanate of Oman’s position as a regional trade hub connecting India with markets across the Gulf, Africa and Central Asia.
The agreement was ratified under Royal Decree No. 30/2026 on February 15, 2026, and entered into force on June 1, 2026.
Beyond expanding bilateral exports, imports and trade in services, the agreement is expected to support productive sectors, attract investment, create employment opportunities and advance Oman’s economic diversification goals under Oman Vision 2040.
